The Thiroor Service Cooperative Bank was registered with 567 primary members and Rs. 2000 as initial capital on 28-07-1957. The bank started its operations on 15-09-1957 at a rented premise. Three fair price shops and one fertilizer depot were started under the bank in 1964. The bank got housed in own premise in 1972 in the town centre of Thiroor and started banking operations on 15th August 1975.
Bank started its branch in Kottekkad on 09-12-1979 and on 21-03-1982 in Mulankunnathukavu. TSC bank became number one in the savings deposits drive campaign in the entire district and also won the Best Cooperative Bank in Thrissur Award during the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of the District cooperative bank, Thrissur.
The bank grew to the Class 1, Audit Classification ‘A’ category when we were celebrating our Silver Jubilee. We also organized our Golden Jubilee celebrations in 2007.
The bank touches almost all walks of life without deviating from its core services sector and today its general consumer stores, Neethi medical stores, and fertilizer depots came to existence in most of the regions in Thiroor. We continuing to operate at a Profit with a gross deposit of Rs. 210 Crores and Rs. 148 crore loan advances. Members of the bank get the shareable 25% dividend and it still continues to operate as a Special Grade Bank under Class-1 Audit Classification ‘A’.
Totally we got six branches under the head office spreading across Mulankunnathukavu and Kolazhy panchayaths, meeting the timely needs from this region. We are soon shifting to our new Head Office, which is equipped with modern day amenities and technological infrastructure.
